2016 Britannia Six Coin Silver Proof Set
Limited edition silver proof 2016 Britannia sets: from a limited issue of just 1,050 released by The Royal Mint in this year. The coins in these sets feature a one-year-only reverse design, created by portrait sculptor Suzie Zamit showing Britannia as a 'warrior queen … proud, patriotic and courageous'. She holds a shield and trident and is accompanied by the lion of England, set against a textured background. Zamit's design is only used on proof 2016 Britannias, not bullion editions. It is paired with Jody Clark's fifth and final definitive coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, facing left. These sets contain six silver Britannias of different sizes, including 1oz, 1/2oz, 1/4oz, 1/10oz, 1/20oz and 1/40oz pieces, all struck with a fine proof finish. Struck in 999 silver, the coins in this set offer 60.25 grams of pure precious metal between them. We are offering these pre-owned 2016 Britannia sets in their original presentation packaging from The Royal Mint which includes a black box and individual protective capsules.
