Just 1,009 issued in this year! Limited edition silver proof six-coin 2019 Britannia sets including 1oz, 1/2oz, 1/4oz, 1/10oz, 1/20oz and 1/40oz. These pre-owned sets from The Royal Mint are offered in the original presentation packaging with a numbered certificate of authenticity and an information booklet enclosed. Britannia has been a feature of British coinage since Roman times. The Royal Mint introduced a line of bullion and proof coins bearing the warrior goddess's name in 1987. The coins in this proof collector's set feature a special design created by sculptor Antony Dufort. He is also the artist responsible for the image of Britannia that appears on circulating £2 coins dated 2015 to 2023. The design on these proof Britannia coins is very similar but includes exclusive seascape background detail including a tiny lighthouse and masted ship. The obverses of the coins in these sets feature the new portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark, introduced in this year as the fifth definitive effigy of Her Majesty. The actual pure silver content of six-coin silver Britannia sets is 60.25 grams. These coins have a proof finish and are UK legal tender with face values ranging from £2 to 5p. Please note that silver coins like these 2015-dated pieces may develop toning over time as part of a natural process.
