2014 Britannia Six Coin Silver Proof Set
The first six coin silver Britannia sets from The Royal Mint! This official 2014 collectors set includes 1oz, 1/2oz, 1/4oz, 1/10oz, 1/20oz and the first 1/40oz Britannia, a new fractional issue introduced in this year. 2014-dated proof Britannias feature a one-off design created by Jody Clark, better known for his royal portrait and his work on the Queen's Beasts series. His Britannia is shown in front of a three-dimensional globe, the English lion sits at her feet. The obverses of all six coins in this set show Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, along with the denomination. This was the fourth official coinage effigy used on Her Majesty's money during her reign. The coins in these sets are struck in a collective 60.31 grams of 999 silver. The purity of silver Britannias was increased from 958 to 999 in 2013. Our 2014-dated six-coin Britannia sets are offered in the original presentation packaging from The Royal Mint which consists of a stylish black case with individual capsules. A numbered certificate of authenticity and an information booklet are enclosed. Just 1,735 of these sets were issued in 2014: much less than in previous years.
