2011 Britannia Four Coin Silver Proof Set
Silver proof 2011 four coin Britannia sets issued by the UK's national mint. These highly-collectable Royal Mint sets come from a limited mintage of 2,483 and includes a One Ounce Britannia, Half Ounce Britannia, Quarter Ounce Britannia and Tenth Ounce Britannia. These four coins all feature a one-off reverse, used only on Britannias issued in 2011. Created by Scottish sculptor, David Mach, the design shows the seated figure of Britannia - the female personification of the British Isles - with the Union Jack overlaid. Mach's motif takes inspiration from historic UK coinage which has often shown Britannia with her trident and shield. The obverse of each of these 2011-dated coins features Ian Rank-Broadley's fourth definitive coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II along with the denomination. In total, the coins in these sets offer 57.50 grams of pure silver. These pieces are struck with a proof finish in 958 silver which was used to mint all silver Britannias issued by The Royal Mint between 1997 and 2012. Our pre-owned 2011 silver proof 4-coin Britannia sets are offered in the original presentation packaging, comprising individual capsules and a black box. A certificate of authenticity is enclosed. Please note that the coins in your 2011 set may show signs of toning which is a natural process that impacts many collectable silver coins.
