2008 Britannia Four Coin Silver Proof Set
Collectable silver Britannia sets from The Royal Mint containing 1oz, 1/2oz, 1/4oz and 1/10oz proof coins all dated 2008. The coins in these sets all feature Ian Rank-Broadley's fourth definitive coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II to the obverse, along with the denomination (£2 to 20p). This is paired with a one-year-only reverse, created for 2008 Britannias by renowned coin designer John Bergdahl. It's a reinterpretation of the classic 'standing Britannia' motif. Berghdahl's Britannia retains the same basic composition with a modern, stylised touch. The goddess holds her trident aloft against a rearing wave, her Union Jack shield resting at her side. Behind her stands a lighthouse, a motif sometimes seen on historic coins featuring Britannia, emphasising her dominion over the seas. Some 2,500 four-coin Britannia sets were issued by the UK's national mint in 2008. Struck in 958 Britannia silver, these sought-after sets offer 57.50 grams of pure silver. We are offering these 2008 Britannia sets in the original presentation packaging which is comprised of a black box with individual capsules. A certificate of authenticity is enclosed. Please note that these are pre-owned sets and the coins may display toning typical of older Royal Mint issues. System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String] System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String]
