2005 Britannia Four Coin Silver Proof Set
Silver four-coin Britannia set from the Royal Mint. Just 2,360 of these collectors sets were issued by the UK's national mint in 2005 featuring proof coins with a one-off reverse design, created for this issue. The design is the work of Philip Nathan and shows the seated figure of Britannia. She holds her traditional trident while her Union Jack shield lies by her side with an English oak tree sprouting to the left. These strong British symbols are typical of Philip Nathan's work. He's the artist behind the classic 'standing Britannia' motif, used perennially since these coins were first introduced in 1987. They were intended as investment pieces, available in gold and later silver, but The Royal Mint also strikes a number of proof coins each year, aimed at collectors. The 1oz, 1/2oz, 1/4oz and 1/10oz coins in this set still display the original fine finish, protected by individual capsules. Each coin conforms to the standard specifications for UK Britannias. Because they were struck before 2013, these coins are made from 958 silver, as was standard at the time. In total the set offers 57.50 grams of pure silver. This pre-owned Royal Mint set comes in its original green leather-effect presentation case with silver lettering to the lid. A certificate of authenticity is included with information about Britannias and the one-year-only design. System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String] System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String]
