Three different gold proof Britannia products were released by the UK's national mint in this year: a four-coin set, an individual 1/4oz proof Britannia and a 1/10oz proof Britannia. On offer here is a pre-owned four-coin set, containing a 2002 1oz Britannia, a 1/2oz Britannia, a 1/4oz Britannia and a 1/10oz Britannia, all struck in 22 carat (91.67% fine) gold. A total of 945 sets were issued by the Mint in this edition and they represent the only way to acquire proof editions of the 2002 one ounce and 2002 half ounce Britannias in their original presentation. The four coins in this set all feature Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. This is the fourth UK coin portrait of Her Majesty. Complementing this on the reverse is Philip Nathan's classic 'standing Britannia' design, alongside the composition and date. In total, the actual gold weight of the four coins in this 1998 set is 57.75 grams or 1.8567 troy ounces. Each of these Britannias are struck to The Royal Mint's strict specifications with a fine proof finish.
