The female personification of the British Isles is accompanied by the English lion on these Royal Mint coins, reminding us of William Wyon's famous 1937 'Una and the Lion' gold £5 coin though the style is very different. Nathan is also the artist behind the classic 'standing Britannia' motif that is used on most of these UK coins.
