2020 Music Legends Queen Five Pound Crown Brilliant Uncirculated In Live Folder
The Brilliant Uncirculated Queen Five Pound Coin is the first release in Royal Mint’s new Music Legends coin series. This exciting new series celebrates the UK music artists that have impacted the world of music, and it’s fitting that the first coin commemorates the rock band, Queen. The origins of the famous rock ’n roll band can be traced back to the early 1970s when original members, Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Rodger Taylor and John Deacon established the band in London. To represent each original member of the band, artist Chris Facey designed the instruments associated with each member on the reverse of the coin. The text “QUEEN” surrounds the guitar, bass, grand piano and bass drum, and is underlined by a microphone stand. Eagle-eyed observers will be able to tell the keys on the piano are pressed down to the opening tune of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. Specifications of the coin are a weight of 28.28 grams, a diameter of 38.61 millimetres and a cupro-nickel alloy. It’s housed in a special limited edition coin sleeve, with only 25,000 available to the public in this presentation. It depicts a stunning design of Queen performing live, personally approved by Brian May and Rodger Taylor. A brilliant gift for any Queen or rock n’ roll lover.
