The Royal Mint's third release in the popular Music Legends coin series celebrates one of Britain's best - David Bowie. This limited edition commemorative £5 coin is struck to a brilliant uncirculated standard and is housed in a collectable Royal Mint slipcase. Also known by his alter-ego, Ziggy Stardust, Bowie was undoubtedly one of most innovative musicians of his era and it's fitting that he's immortalised in this striking coin. Jody Clark was responsible for engraving the reverse design of the coin. He looked to Bowie's stint in Berlin for inspiration and reimagined the lightning bolt synonymous with the Aladdin Sane album for it. Also notable are the 27 stars on Bowie's right hand side, which is a nod to the 27 studio albums the rock star released in his career, along with the legend 'BOWIE'. Clark also designed the coin's obverse, which features the timeless fifth British coin portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Finely struck to a BU standard and encased in a protective capsule and sleeve, the cupro-nickel coin itself measures 38.61 millimetres in diameter and weighs 28.28 grams. You'll receive your David Bowie crown coin in its attractive Royal Mint packaging and we offer free UK delivery.
