The second edition of the 2020 David Bowie Brilliant Uncirculated Five Pound Coin is part of the third release of the Royal Mint's Music Legends Series, which celebrates some of the best musicians from the United Kingdom. On this coin, the groundbreaking artist David Bowie is brought to life. The reverse, which was designed by renowned British engraver Jody Clark, features Ziggy Stardust himself alongside the famous lightning bolt which became part of his identity. Clark took inspiration for the reverse design from Bowie's Berlin years and adapted the lightning bolt from the rock star's Aladdin Sane album. Also prominent are 27 stars to the top left of the reverse, one for every studio album Bowie released. The text 'BOWIE' is also clearly visible to the bottom right of Bowie's figure. The obverse, also, designed by Clark, shows the fifth definitive UK coin portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Expertly struck to a BUnc standard, the coin itself measures 38.61 millimetres in diameter, weighs 28.28 grams and is made of cupro-nickel. Whilst the first edition had an unlimited mintage, this special edition of the Royal Mint BU coin is issued in limited edition packaging, with just 15,000 available to the public. This makes it a perfect present for any David Bowie follower or for coin collectors in general. System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String] System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String]
