In this third design of the Queen's Beasts series - each featuring one of 10 animals from beastly statues present at Elizabeth II's coronation - the heraldic Welsh Dragon features on this BU Five Pound coin. The famous Red Dragon has been closely related with Wales as a battle symbol for centuries and was used by Henry VII in his victory in the Wars of the Roses. Jody Clark presents the fantastical beast on the reverse poised and wrapped around a shield depicting the four lions within the Royal Badge of Wales. Elizabeth II's portrait by Jody Clark is found to the obverse of this Royal Mint cupronickel Crown. This pre-owned UK coin from the admired series weighs 28.28 grams and has a diameter of 38.61millimetres. Being an uncirculated coin complete with the original folder and protective slipcase, this is therefore a great example of a Queen's Beasts coin no longer in production.
