Paddington Bear at the Palace is the second BU 50p coin released by the Royal Mint in 2018 featuring the popular bear from Peru. More than sixty years after the publication of 'A Bear Called Paddington,' the small stowaway remains as popular and beloved as ever. Michael Bond's colourful character has captured hearts and minds for six decades, since first appearing in the October 1958 book 'A Bear called Paddington.' Bond has written over twenty books detailing the bear's adventures with the Brown family, and the stories have more recently been made into a pair of successful films, starring A-list actors alongside the captivating little bear. The reverse of this cute 50 Pence coin features Paddington Bear waving a Union Flag outside Buckingham Palace. He's depicted with his charming hat and duffel coat, with the palace in the background behind him. Artist David Knapton took inspiration for his design of the reverse from the original illustrations by Peggy Fortnum. This design is complemented by the obverse design of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark. Specifications of the coin are a weight of eight grams, a diameter of 27.30 millimetres and a brilliant uncirculated finish. A perfect gift for any Paddington Bear fan, issued in the original packaging from the Royal Mint. System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String] System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String]
