The 2018 Black Bull of Clarence is the fourth design in the fan-favourite Queen's Beasts series from The Royal Mint. In a BU finish, this UK Five Pound Crown depicts the heraldic bull - one of 10 royal beasts present at Elizabeth II's coronation in 1953. The Queen's final coinage portrait is found on the obverse. To reverse, the Yorkist Bull rears behind a shield featuring both the lions of England and the fleurs-de-lis of France. Jody Clark of The Royal Mint is credited with both designs found on this Queen's Beasts Crown, which is struck in cupronickel alloy. Weighing 28.28 grams, this collectable coin has a diameter of 38.61 millimetres. Included with this pre-owned British £5, which is no longer available from the Mint, is the original folder and slipcase housing fascinating insights into the history and design process around this fan-favourite series.
