2019 Queen's Beasts Yale Of Beaufort Two Ounce Silver Bullion Coin
Silver two ounce Yale of Beaufort bullion coin from The Royal Mint's incredibly popular Queen's Beasts series. This uncirculated collectable is the seventh bullion release in the collection and it depicts a mythical animal said to have the tusks and horns of a boar and to be the size of an elephant. The yale was first mentioned by the Roman author Pliny the Elder in his influential literary collection titled 'Natural History' (Naturalis Historia). It's associated with Elizabeth II via her ancestor King Henry VII, who inherited it from his mother, Lady Margaret Beaufort. Her position as matriarch of the Tudor dynasty gave the yale prestige and symbolic meaning. On the coin's reverse, the goat-bodied yale is seen behind a shield with a crowned portcullis on it. The obverse shows Queen Elizabeth II, facing right in her fifth definitive UK coin portrait. Both sides of this 999.9 fine silver coin were designed by Royal Mint engraver Jody Clark, who has made the Queen's Beasts coin series his own. This bullion-finish investment coin total weight of 62.41 grams and an actual silver content of two troy ounces. With a pound sterling value of Five Pounds, this UK coin is exempt from Capital Gains Tax. There may be some slight production marks on the coin's surface: this is normal for bullion coins and doesn't detract from their precious metal value.
