2017 Queens Beasts Griffin Of Edward III Two Ounce Silver Bullion Coin
Silver bullion two ounce Griffin of Edward III Queen's Beasts coin from The Royal Mint. This collection of proof and investment coins was inspired by the heraldic supporters that flank the coats of arms of Queen Elizabeth II's royal and noble ancestors. Among these beasts is the Griffin, a creature of ancient legend, part lion and part eagle, that King Edward III had placed on his private seal. On the reverse of this 2017 coin, the griffin is seen clutching a shield depicting Windsor Castle: the birthplace of Edward III. On the coin's 'heads' side, the obverse, the fifth official UK coin portrait of Queen Elizabeth II can be seen. Both designs were created by the Royal Mint engraver Jody Clark, who also designed all the other coins in the Queen's Beasts series. This coin is struck in 31.21 grams of 999 silver and has an actual silver weight of two troy ounces. Since these Royal Mint coins have a legal tender pound sterling value of Five Pounds, they're exempt from Capital Gains Tax. Some very slight production marks on the coin may be present on your coin, which is perfectly normal for pre-owned bullion coins and doesn't take away from their silver value.
