2015 Britannia One Ounce Silver Bullion Coin
Add this pre-owned 2015 one ounce bullion Britannia to your collection. 2015 Britannias are among the first UK coins to feature the fifth portrait of Her Majesty the Queen by Jody Clark. His design replaces Ian Rank-Broadley's definitive effigy - in use since 1998 - and shows Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Diamond Diadem. Clark's portrait would be used on collectible, bullion and circulating British coinage until the Queen's passing in 2022. This new design is paired with a classic reverse, depicting Britannia standing against the wind, garbed in classical robes and wearing a corinthian helmet. She holds her trident, a union jack shield and an olive branch. This instantly recognisable motif is the work of Philip Nathan and has been a staple of this series since the first gold editions were struck in 1987. Silver Britannias would follow in 1997 and have been issued by The Royal Mint in every year since. For this issue a textured background has been added as a security measure. The legend has also been revised, reading 'BRITANNIA · 2015 · 1OZ · 999 · FINE · SILVER ·'. Like all these silver bullion coins, 2015 Britannias offer the investor exactly one troy ounce of pure silver. These coins follow the modern specification and are composed of 99.9% silver (total mass: 31.21 grams, diameter: 38.61 millimetres). Earlier coins in this series were slightly larger and less fine. Our 2015 Britannias are second-hand. They're in excellent condition (graded Extremely Fine or better) and as pre-owned collectibles we're able to offer them under the VAT margin scheme. This guarantees you a better price than you'll pay for brand new coinage and you'll still receive an attractive, uncirculated, one ounce silver coin.
