1871 Sydney Shield Reverse Sovereign PCGS MS62
S-3855A, with WW initials incused in truncation. London shield sovereigns in all grades have become extremely popular the last few years, but Australian sovereigns are only now beginning to feel the same demand. Quality has been hard to find, such that even common dates in Mint State have been difficult to obtain and stock. This 1871 Sydney shield sovereign is the first we’ve handled since August last year, and comes from an old western Sydney suburbs collection. Professional Coin Grading Service is the global leader in coin authentication and grading. With over 60 million coins graded and counting, PCGS is trusted by collectors, dealers, and investors to certify authenticity, protect value, and elevate market confidence. This is a direct conversion of the 70-point PCGS grade to a 10-point scale, intended to present the grade in a more intuitive format for newer collectors. It is not our personal opinion or an attempt at regrading the coin to a different standard.
