This Aztec Calendar 5oz Silver Bar showcases the ancient Aztec Sun Stone, featuring the face of the solar deity Tonatiuh at its centre on the front of the bar. The back of the bar features a portrait of the last Aztec Emperor of Tenochtitlan, Cuauhtémoc, wearing a traditional Aztec headdress, surrounded by an Aztec border. The Aztec Sun Calendar, known as the Xiuhpōhualli, was a solar calendar composed of eighteen months of twenty days each, totaling 360 days, followed by five additional days known as nemontēmi. In addition to this solar calendar, the Aztecs also observed a sacred ritual calendar called the Tōnalpōhualli, which followed a 260-day cycle.
