1866 Sydney Mint Sovereign PCGS MS63
The coin photographed above is one of the finest 1866 Sydney Mint sovereigns I’ve seen in the last five years, and one of only three graded MS63 by PCGS (2/14). Despite PCGS having graded over 550 1866 Sydney Mint sovereigns and almost 1,300 Type II Sydney Mint sovereigns overall, none have been graded MS64 or finer and only seven have graded MS63 or MS63+. This places the coin for sale above in the top 0.5% of Sydney Mint sovereigns graded by PCGS. If you’re looking for coins of relative quality and genuine rarity, this is your coin. Professional Coin Grading Service is the global leader in coin authentication and grading. With over 60 million coins graded and counting, PCGS is trusted by collectors, dealers, and investors to certify authenticity, protect value, and elevate market confidence. This is a direct conversion of the 70-point PCGS grade to a 10-point scale, intended to present the grade in a more intuitive format for newer collectors. It is not our personal opinion or an attempt at regrading the coin to a different standard.
