**The silver Canadian Maple Leaf is issued annually by the Royal Canadian Mint and is made of 99,99% silver. The silver Maple Leaf weighs exactly 1 troy ounce (31,10 grams). The tube contains 25 coins.** **The tube contains 25 coins with light oxidation traces. The imperfections are mostly found at the edges of the coins or the tube contains mixed years.** ### Silver Maple Leaf The silver Canadian Maple Leaf is issued annually by the Royal Canadian Mint and was introduced in 1988 by the Canadian Dominion. The silver Maple Leaf was the first silver coin with a purity of 99,99% silver. ### Purity & weight **The silver Maple Leaf has a purity of 999,9/1.000 pure and weighs exactly 31,10 grams (1 troy ounce).** Its purity and weight make it a proper bullion coin, acknowledged worldwide and easy to trade. **The tube contains 20 coins, which makes 777,50 grams of fine silver per tube.** ### Design of the silver Canadian Maple Leaf The obverse shows the image of Queen Elizabeth II, former Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms. Beneath her portrait you can find the face value of the Maple Leaf together with the year of mintage. The reverse shows the image of a maple leaf - the national symbol of Canada - with the purity of the coin (9999) mentioned on both sides of the maple leaf. On top of the coin you see the inscription 'Canada' and at the bottom you find the weight, expressed in both English and French: 'fine silver 1 oz argent pur'.Since 2013, Maple Leafs have had a miniature version of the leaf in the right corner under the large maple leaf image. Within this miniature maple leaf you will find the year of mintage. The Canadian Mint uses this micro-engraving technique to guarantee the authenticity of the coin. From 2015 on, all Maple Leafs have a radial laser-engraved surface. ### Buying a silver Canadian Maple Leaf The silver Maple Leaf and other silver coins serve perfectly as a purchase of physical silver. Opposed to silver bars you needn't pay VAT because silver coins are traded under the VAT margin regulation. ### Selling a silver South-African Maple Leaf You are more than welcome in our office to sell your silver Maple Leaf coins. **You needn’t make an appointment to do so.**Our buying prices are adapted every minute to the actual silver rate and will only be hedged once you present your coins in our office. **You can easily check our live buying rates on [this page](https://www.argentorshop.be/nl/zilveren-munten-verkopen).**We only buy silver Maple Leaf coins in the same quantities as we sell them: tubes of 20, 25 coins or boxes of 500 coins. **We do not buy single silver ounce coins.** Single silver ounce coins are bought as scrap silver at the rate corresponding to the purity of the silver.
