1865 Sydney Mint Sovereign PCGS MS62
An outstanding example of this scarcer date. Totally original, with full lustre, clean fields, and great eye appeal, this specimen is one of the nicest 1865 Sydney Mints I’ve seen in the last five years – and one of the nicest Sydney Mints I’ve seen overall. This example is arguably superior to the example in the Quartermaster Collection (that coin was graded “Choice UNC” and realised $20,572), and is one of the few Mint State 1865 Sydney Mint Sovereigns to appear on the market in the last few years. From the Jerome Remick Collection, auctioned 18 October 2006, and the single finest graded by PCGS (May 2012). RARE. Catalogues $15,000 in UNC and $26,000 in Choice UNC. Professional Coin Grading Service is the global leader in coin authentication and grading. With over 60 million coins graded and counting, PCGS is trusted by collectors, dealers, and investors to certify authenticity, protect value, and elevate market confidence. This is a direct conversion of the 70-point PCGS grade to a 10-point scale, intended to present the grade in a more intuitive format for newer collectors. It is not our personal opinion or an attempt at regrading the coin to a different standard.
