Both birds are portrayed gazing to the right. The design includes the inscription ‘AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE’ and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, together with the coin’s weight, purity, and 2026 year-date.This is the eleventh wedge-tailed eagle design for The Perth Mint by renowned American coin sculptor John M. Mercanti, the 12th Chief Engraver of the US Mint. The coin’s obverse depicts the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III and the monetary denomination. The Australian Wedge-tailed Eagle 2026 1oz Silver Bullion Coin is presented in an acrylic capsule and for additional peace of mind, the coin incorporates an authentication feature in the form of a micro-laser engraved letter. Detectable under a magnifying glass, it is designed to make it significantly more difficult for the coin to be counterfeited.
