Australian Currency Act 1965. The Perth Mint will release no more than 25,000 of the Australian Wombat 2024 1oz Silver Bullion Coin in capsule. The coin portrays a wombat and its ‘joey’. Other design elements include vegetation, gum trees, birds and clouds. As well as the inscription ‘WOMBAT’, the reverse includes a ‘P125’ mintmark signifying The Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary, as well as the coin’s weight, purity, and 2024 year-date. The coin’s obverse bears the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III and the monetary denomination. For additional peace of mind, the coin incorporates an authentication feature in the form of a micro-laser engraved letter. Detectable under a magnifying glass, it is designed to make it significantly more difficult for the coin to be counterfeited.
