1kg Silver Coin 2026 Kookaburra - Perth Mint. A common guest of residential Australian gardens, the kookaburra is the largest member of the kingfisher species. Devoted to other family members, kookaburras gather at dusk and dawn to declare territorial boundaries with shrill, cackling laughs. Having first heard the call of the Australian Kookaburra in 1990, investors have been faithful to the iconic silver series for more than three decades. Each coin’s reverse includes a security feature in the form of a micro-laser engraved letter within the coin’s design. It is only detectable under a magnifying glass. Only 500,000 1oz coins will be released. No mintage limit applies to the 1 kilo and 10oz coins, however production will close at the end of 2026 and The Perth Mint will declare each coin’s official mintage. Each coin in this program is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.Perth Mint coins come encased in a hard clear plastic case to help keep coins in pristine condition. Ainslie Bullion recommends leaving these cases un-tampered for the best preservation of value. The Perth Mint is Australia’s leading precious metal refiner accredited by the LBMA. Backed by the Western Australian Government, The Perth Mint has produced the official bullion coin program since 1987. The Perth Mint also produces a large range of high quality gold and silver bars. All Perth Mint gold products are LBMA accredited and refined to 99.99% purity (= 24 carat) and all silver products are refined to 99.9% purity. Ainslie Bullion is a Primary Bullion Distributor for Perth Mint.
