**The 100 Austrian crown coinis a historical gold coin with a purity of 90% (21,6 karats). The 100 Austrian crown coin weighs a gross 33,87 grams and has a net weight of 30,48 grams.** ### 100 Austrian crown coin The Austrian 100 crown coin was minted in 1908 as a commemorative coin for the emperor's jubilee. Subsequently, the coins were circulated as restrikes, both as commemorative and investment coins. These coins always bear the year 1915 as the year of issue. ### Purity & weight **The gold 8 Austrian florin has a purity of 900/1.000 (21,6 karats) and a net weight of 30,48 grams (0,9799 troy ounce).** The remaining 3,39 grams consist of copper. This alloy ensured that the coin was less prone to damage and therefore resistant to wear through everyday circulation. ### Design of the Gold 100 Austrian crown coin The design of the restrikes follows that of the last issued corona coins from 1915.On the obverse, you see the image of Emperor Franz Joseph Charles, emperor from 1848 to 1916, also known for his famous consort, Empress Elisabeth 'Sisi' of Bavaria.Underneath this image ‘St. Schwartz’ is written, this is Stefan Schwartz, the engraver of the coin. Around this image is the Latin phrase ‘FRANC.JOS.I.D.G.IMP.AVSTR.REX BOH.GAL.ILL.ETC.ET AP.REX HVNG’On the reverse, the Austrian coat of arms is depicted. At the bottom left and right of the coat of arms, you will find the nominal value of the coin. At the bottom of the coin is the year of issue; the ‘Cor’ refers to Corona , the German name of the coin. Around it is the Latin wording 'C CORONÆ MDCCCCXV.'On the edge of the coin are the words 'VIRIBVS VNITIS,' ('Strength in Unity'). ### Buying Gold 100 Austrian crown coin The 100 Austrian crown coin and other gold coins can serve as a purchase of physical gold.
