1953 Perth Proof Halfpenny PCGS PR63RB
All pre-1955 proof coins were issued in low numbers, with the mintages of some issues as low as one or two pieces. The 1953 Perth proof halfpenny has a mintage of between 16 and 20 examples, and is a required coin in the QEII proof halfpenny set. The present example is equal-third finest graded by PCGS (3/24) and just the second example we’ve handled since 2008. RARE in this grade, and an essential QEII proof issue. Professional Coin Grading Service is the global leader in coin authentication and grading. With over 60 million coins graded and counting, PCGS is trusted by collectors, dealers, and investors to certify authenticity, protect value, and elevate market confidence. This is a direct conversion of the 70-point PCGS grade to a 10-point scale, intended to present the grade in a more intuitive format for newer collectors. It is not our personal opinion or an attempt at regrading the coin to a different standard.
