1863 Sydney Mint Sovereign PCGS MS63
Dozens of coins come and go across my desk every month, but very few of them catch my eye the way this coin did. Lustrous, sharply-struck, and with a hint of cameo on the obverse, this 1863 Sydney Mint sovereign is *the* finest example of this date I’ve seen on the market in recent years. Take a look at the detailing in the Queen’s wreath, the sharpness in the crown on the reverse, the smoothness in the fields, the wholeness of the rims: This piece was surely put aside very early on in its life. From an old North Sydney collection, and the equal-finest graded by PCGS (4/18). VERY RARE this nice. Professional Coin Grading Service is the global leader in coin authentication and grading. With over 60 million coins graded and counting, PCGS is trusted by collectors, dealers, and investors to certify authenticity, protect value, and elevate market confidence. This is a direct conversion of the 70-point PCGS grade to a 10-point scale, intended to present the grade in a more intuitive format for newer collectors. It is not our personal opinion or an attempt at regrading the coin to a different standard.
