1940 Shilling PCGS MS64
It’s been a while since I’ve had a decent 1940 shilling in stock. In fact, since October 2011, I have had only three other examples available for sale, in grades PCGS MS62, MS63, and MS65. All coins sold quickly (particularly the MS65). The coin on offer here, photographed above, belonged to a collector from Sydney’s north west. He held the coin for many years before he was able to find an upgrade. Make no mistake, although there are two 1940 shillings graded finer by PCGS than this coin here, it’ll possibly be years before a better one appears on the market for sale. Indeed, with at least one of the PCGS MS65 1940 shillings in a private collection and not for sale, this coin photographed above is theoretically the best or second-best 1940 shilling currently available on the market. Rare and collectable. Professional Coin Grading Service is the global leader in coin authentication and grading. With over 60 million coins graded and counting, PCGS is trusted by collectors, dealers, and investors to certify authenticity, protect value, and elevate market confidence. This is a direct conversion of the 70-point PCGS grade to a 10-point scale, intended to present the grade in a more intuitive format for newer collectors. It is not our personal opinion or an attempt at regrading the coin to a different standard.
