1938 Proof Shilling PCGS PR64
While all proof coins are popular with collectors, the proofs of 1938 have been especially so. The official mintage was 100 coins per denomination, but the issue was unpopular at the time and only the threepence sold out. Of the shilling, 94 were sold; the remainder were destroyed. The present coin, photographed above, is one of the better examples to hit the market in recent years, and would make an ideal addition to a pre-decimal proof coin collection or type set. Professional Coin Grading Service is the global leader in coin authentication and grading. With over 60 million coins graded and counting, PCGS is trusted by collectors, dealers, and investors to certify authenticity, protect value, and elevate market confidence. This is a direct conversion of the 70-point PCGS grade to a 10-point scale, intended to present the grade in a more intuitive format for newer collectors. It is not our personal opinion or an attempt at regrading the coin to a different standard.
