These unsearched, circulated **90% silver Standing Liberty Quarters** are being sold by the $10 face value coin roll (40 quarters). The Standing Liberty Quarter was minted from 1916 to 1930. The design by sculptor Hermon Atkins MacNeil features the goddess of Liberty standing on one side and an eagle in flight on the other. There are a few design variations of the Standing Liberty Quarter. MacNeil’s militaristic design depicts Lady Liberty holding an olive branch and a shield on guard against attacks. The Mint required modifications to the initial design, and MacNeil’s revised version included dolphins to represent the oceans. In late 1916, Mint officials made major changes to the design without consulting MacNeil. After receiving the new issue in January 1917 the sculptor complained about the changes. The Mint obtained special legislation to allow MacNeil to redesign the coin as he desired. One change made by the sculptor was the addition of a chain mail vest that covered Liberty’s formerly bare breast. In circulation, the coin’s date wore away quickly so the mint modified the design with a recessed date in 1925. These are sold as unsearched, cull – circulated coins which means we acquire them as a random assortment and then they are immediately rolled. We do not cherry pick, look for key dates, or pull anything out unless it looks completely slick (no visible image). The condition and wear on these old, highly circulated coins are completely random and can vary from roll to roll. As such, it is possible that the date marks may have worn away or barely be visible. **Buying Gold And Silver Coins With BGASC Is Convenient And Secure** BGASC is Fast, Reliable, and Trusted.
